Devotions with Da'dra
Good morning! First, this election cycle is hilarious. I've never seen anything like it. Just wanted to say that. Lol
Well, yesterday I was so exhausted and after taking my son to the doctor, running back and forth to the store and both son's schools, teaching class, having meetings and rehearsals, I was tired. And, the more texts and calls I received, the more I felt overwhelmed.
So, I shut everything out for an hour or so and went to my prayer room. I read Is. 40:31, 'But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.' And I looked up the Hebrew word for 'wait' since that's the prerequisite for strength bring renewed. I've heard that it meant to hope and wait with expectancy, but when I looked at the complete definition, I was really blessed.
It not only means to wait with expectancy, but it also means that the strength to wait comes from the first half of the word's meaning which is, 'to be twisted.' It's like a rope with many strands that are twisted around each other, this makes the rope stronger.
In other words, when we 'twist' ourselves and intertwine with God through the word, prayer, praise and worship, confessions, etc., we become stronger. THEN, our strength is renewed, we will begin to run and not be weary, walk and not faint.
So, If you're feeling tired, run down or even exhausted, take some time this morning to twist yourself around God and get intertwined in His presence through prayer, praise and worship and the word. Shut everything out and get entangled again with God. Then, you'll experience renewed energy and strength.
Well, have a blessed, prosperous and productive day! (Why is it raining again in HOUSTON? Lord, have mercy). Lol
Ok, be safe out there.
